Well I finally did get that job I thought I didn't get and after working only part time 4 days a week 5 hours a day I come home totally exhausted and every bone in my body is screaming! I guess it doesn't help that I haven't worked in ten years and all of a sudden here I am on my feet all these hours afters spending all my time sitting in front of my pc at home!Thankfully a couple of times a week the new guy in my life meets me after work and when we get to my apartment he does a great job massaging my neck and shoulders and feet and legs. Today I actually fell asleep while he was doing it! The days he doesn't come over I usually jump into a steaming hot bathtub of bubbles and just lay there relaxing...and I hate taking baths but this is awesome! What do you do to relax when you get home from work or at the end of a hard day of taking care of your house/apartment or going to classes at school?

I usually sit for a fet minutes drinking a diet coke then take a 15 minute power nap and I am good for the rest of the day. [jillhill]
Power naps always work for me. Instead of soda a good cup of coffee always helps too. [ctrymuziklvr]
It's great to hear that you did eventually get the job, ctry. You should be back in the swing in little or no time. It has been quite a few years since I was in the work force and most of my days are not too stressful. When I do have a rough day, though, the Bubble Bath treatment works for me. It seems to allow all of the tension to drain slowly out of your body. By the time I get into bed I am so relaxed that my eyes will close and I'll drift off to sleep without a second thought. [worldwise1]
Yes, I'm thrilled that I got it buy these old bones aren't so happy! lol... [ctrymuziklvr]
after work, I usually relax by surfing the net or watching the tv or having a laugh with my officemates by sharing funny and stupid stories. LOL but oftentimes, I usually watch tv. it relaxes me so much that it helps me get into sleep. ^__^ [secretbear]
I've tried getting on the pc after work but I'm usually too exhausted. Yes your right about those blue stars...lol [ctrymuziklvr]
If its a real stressful day, I'll take an hour bath. I follow the bath up with warm milk or tea or possibly a fruit smoothie or vegetable juice. Either that or I'll just go to sleep very early. Not just go to sleep, but take out the real comfortable pillows, nice and thick and place those along with my regular pillows so I can relax my shoulders, neck, head and back. I find that to be a good unwinder too. [theprogamer]
I find myself fighting to stay awake until a normal bedtime and that's a lot of work! [ctrymuziklvr]
I am a homemaker, Babysit five of my grandkids four days a week and often nights. When they go down. I make a cup of hot coffee, cocoa or tea or sometimes a Black Cow with Kalua and relax and watch some T.V or read. If I read I often fill the tub with scented bath Oils and hot water as hot as I can stand and soak and read for as long as the water is warm. [Celanith]
Sounds like a plan for me. Now I have to start getting used to taking baths because I hate them. [ctrymuziklvr]
our pace of life has become so fast that sometimes, even the simple task of relaxing turns out to be a drag. when i still had the time to waste on such trivial things, i would consider it a treat to head off to the nearest spa and get a facial and/or manicure & pedicure. it just feels so heavenly to be pampered and taken care of by experts. after a session, i'd feel like a queen. but now, since i've taken on 2 jobs, the best way to relax after a hard day is to head up to my room, change into silken pjs and zzzz sleep zzzz. [lilaclilith]
When I was working full time I did "from work to work"---after working in the office or school, I go home to work again doing some housework. Today, I have time in my hands, I am facing the pc much of the time, I go out once in a while to do offline tasks, then back again. Now that I have my own pc, I have become a certified internet addict.lol [funny52f]
Welcome to the world of internet addiction..lol...besides my job in the real world I have a couple of online sites where I earn money too so I end up sitting here for a few hours each day also. [ctrymuziklvr]
I want to borrow your new guy!!!! Man that massage deal you have sounds wonderful! Me, I come home and zone out on Mylot for about half an hour before I do anything else. That really helps to shake the blahs from the day. I have that me time with a nice hot cup of coffee before I set in on fixing dinner, helping with homework and getting things ready for the next day. Then after all that is done, I go out and have a seat on the porch swing and watch the sun go down. That is always nice in it's self. At the end of the day I have a soak in a nice hot bubble bath, then last before I crawl into bed I do some light yoga which greatly helps in removing the stress from my mind and body before sleep. [sunshinecup]
I'll trade him for that porch swing! lol....and probably everything around it. [ctrymuziklvr]
I just go home and lay down. Nothing special. Love my cat, though he usually wants to play which is super annoying for me cause I'm like I just got home kitty!!! leave me be a few! Do you enjoy the job? [raychill]
I wish I wasn't allergic to cats because I would have at least 2! I love them but hate what they do to me. I love my new job thanks! [ctrymuziklvr]
For me, sitting down with a tall glass of ice water in front of my computer and surfing aimlessly is my relaxation! I sometimes add music to the mix, but not always. Coming to myLot, perusing ebay, and things like that are relaxing for me. I am on my feet at my job, so going for a walk or anythng physical is out of the question. I come home ready to SIT! Sometimes the ice water is replaced by a hot cup of green tea. [crazynurse]
If I absolutely HAD to do any walking when I got home it would be close to impossible. Sitting in front of the pc is very relaxing for me too. [ctrymuziklvr]
Journey, play with your friends, see some movies and so on [Kavent]
The thing that I use to relax is hot bath with calgon in the water shut the lights off and light a candle and just relax in the peacefulnesss. This doesen't work till the kids are in bed or they are constantly having to come in to use the bathroom. [hip2bemom]
I am so lucky that my kids are grown ups now and on their own aren't I? Calgon....take me away! lol... [ctrymuziklvr]
yes my college too started and i come home by 6pm and leave it at 9am..so long and the engineering studies too makes me tired and the work given by the teachers is very hard to do then..when i come home i usually refresh myself and eat something it takes 7pm and then i come to computers to do some work and after a little bit of study or tv(if no study) i go to sleep...:D [re2809]
Sounds like a very long and hard day to me! [ctrymuziklvr]
When I am exhausted I get a good bathe and put in a cd and lie on the couch. I may or may not fall asleep but I always feel refreshed after doing this. Oh, my daughter will sit and massage me too until I fall asleep. I love this part of relaxation more than anything else because she is mine and makes me feel so loved and comfortable. [Sharon38]
There is nothing better than a child to help us feel loved and comfortable. My son used to be great for that when he was small. [ctrymuziklvr]
I am a housewife now. Prior when i used to work, I know how difficult it was at the end of the day. I preferred having a good cup of tea once i reach home. [pinnibabu]
We can just play. Playing is an excelent tool for relaxing. Let us enjoy playing and get good physics [Vettriselvan]
I do my playing on the pc of course and enjoy it immensely! [ctrymuziklvr]
The best way for me is just coming home and watching tv or playing games, or going on a bike ride. [mark63534]
I especially like the bike ride! Sounds like fun to me. [ctrymuziklvr]
Oh when I get home I like to kick back and watch some t.v. I am a mom so i cook about 5 days a week and sometimes I will play the sims 2 with my kids. I love Video Games and watching tv when american idol is on and also so you think you can dance. [jwmcinc]
It's always great to be able to play PC Games with the kids isn't it? [ctrymuziklvr]
After a hard days work when I get home, I usually went straight to my room and cool myself down by sitting with my feet up to relax while watching tv. Then I feed my fishes in the aquarium and watch them swim to follow my hand, its very relaxing seeing the feed and swim around. :-) [eprado]
They say aquariums are great relaxation helpers! [ctrymuziklvr]
The Ultimate way to relax for me is to blow something up on my PC :). [Dangis]
I relax by exercising. Now, this may sound crazy because you could be asking yourself how someone could exercise after a long day at work whether on your feet or whatever it is your job requires you to do. I submit that exercising regularly will give you more energy in the long run - plus it is a good stress or anxiety reliever. It doesn't have to be anything too strenuous. It could be a short walk in the fresh air or simple yoga exercises. Whatever, it is your unwinding session and helps the body and mind. That's how I relax. [tcbechtold]
I know you are right! Exercise is supposed to be a good way to relax and relieve stress and anxiety. [ctrymuziklvr]
Sometimes I don't mind the change of pace from work to home and I'm content to start dinner and do some laundry. Then other days I'm zonked and prefer to lay down for a bit. I will bring my laptop with me sometimes and check email or surf. It is relaxing to just do what you want and not have to have time limits and contstraints on things. [kareng]
All people are not alike. Everyone has their level of relaxing. Some are relaxed by getting a massage. In my opinion, massage is also a kind of addiction in which if you develop this habit as your relaxing out, then you are addicted to it and you have to have it even daily. I work full time for 9 and a half hours daily, come home and relax by watching TV, laying down for half an hour and then have dinner. After dinner, I watch TV till 11 PM, then I stay online, checking my e-mails and replying to discussions till 2 to 3 AM. You can say I am working on MyLot as part time worker. At almost 2 or 3 AM I go to bed as I have to get up till 8:30 AM in the morning. Have breakfast, take a bath and get ready to go to work till 10:00 AM. Busy working day and I work 6 days a week with only Sunday as holiday. [ashar123]
You are so right. I could never stay up until 2 or 3 am and get up in the morning when I had to! [ctrymuziklvr]
After work I come home and have a little dinner and then i watch some t.v.and then I am on MyLot or I watch a movie. [sarahruthbeth22]
After work I usually take a warm bath and then play with my son to relieve stress and when he is asleep I play my psp and catch up on my gaming.heheheh! after all the games and playing with my son I spend time with my wife and that relives stress the most! [lantisb3]
Playing with kids is an awesome stress reliever as far as I'm concerned! [ctrymuziklvr]
sauna, walking and lovemaking [sergeantrom]
I either laze in front of the tv and put my feet up, take a hot bath, or even take a nap. [maddysmommy]
There are many ways to reduce tension and relax. One of them is doing Breathing Exercises. Deep breathing is an easy stress reliever that has numerous benefits for the body, including oxygenating the blood, which 'wakes up' the brain, relaxing muscles and quieting the mind. Breathing exercises are especially helpful because you can do them anywhere, and they work quickly so you can de-stress in a flash. I also like to listen to music. When dealing with stress, the right music can actually lower your blood pressure, relax your body and calm your mind. Here are some suggestions of different types of music to listen to, and how to use music in your daily life for effective stress management. [wdiong]
i come here in my lot whenever i want to relax. whew im a newbie in my job as a pharmacist its really a strainous work dispensing medicines for the whole day. i work even for overtime that's why i work for more than 16 hours a day for 6 days. today, is just my free day and to relax i join the discussions here. sometimes i just sleep to relieve headache or fatigue that i get to feel. i dont drink beer or coffee to relieve stress or induce relaxation because i dont like the taste. [joshboz]
I would like to take a quick shower at first, and then enjoy my favourite Books or magazines for a moment and last sleep. The way of relaxing for me is sleep.A nice sleep will help me to have enough energy for tne next day. [shinjiao]
I usually went straight to my room and cool myself down by sitting with my feet up to relax while watching tv. Then I feed my fishes in the aquarium and watch them swim to follow my hand, its very relaxing seeing the feed and swim around. [soulkeeper16]
I apparently need to do a better job checking around to look for duplicate questions. I just asked this question. On the same note, my husband gives me a great massage every now and then. It is wonderful. I would take more bubble baths if our tub held water better. The strange thing is it holds lots of water while you are showering and runs out while you are taking a bath. [aidenofthetower]
lol...since this is sooo old I really wouldn't call it a duplicate question! I was surprised to see it revived. [ctrymuziklvr]
After a hard and stressful day, I would sit down on my computer and turn on some soft music and think about all those good times I had with my hubby, family and kids, sometimes I would take a long jetted bubble bath or meditated which ever I felt like that day and it helps a lot...worries and stress only adds gray hair and wrinkles don't need any of those...YIKES... [cartoon4umaniacs]
After hard days of worked I always stay in the house for my family and make some nice dinner and do played with children sometimes do watched movie with them and played Computer Games and going outside mostly in the park and do some shopping as well........ [cherylal]
I usually relax by playing computer games, sleeping, reading books that I find interesting, hanging out with my friends, or eating my favorite foods. [horohoro01]
The first thing I do to relax, I pick up the day's newspaper and recline in my couch. I call for a glass of my lager, Castle. Wifey ardently and efficiently sets it on my side table, and my 5 year-old daughter automatically and diligently surrenders the satelite tv remote control. As i take reflective andsuculent swigs at the lager, while reading here and there, I also listen to the tv news and effortlessly switch between channels in time for the live Soccer match. how laxative it is to watch Manchester United carry the day. My day is done. [nickventere]
For me relaxation is watching TV, or playing computer, turning music on, surfing internet, I like computer so much, every day I sit in front of computer more than 10 hours I think, haha... in the morning after getting up I start computer, as soon as entering the office I turn on the computer, at home in the evening I also play computer, haha... [lindazhao333]
I liketo just lay down and bed, with no kids, and no noise. I enjoy the silience, although that RARELY happens. I wish that i had a bathtub because i love baths, but we just have one of those huge tiled showers that could fit like 5 people lol. I really would kill for a bath somedays! Every once in a while i take a bath at my friends house while i'm babysitting there. She doesn't mind as long as i clean out the tub when i'm finished up. It's a small price to pay to grab a quick bath, and its not really relaxing, becaue the kids are still in the bathroom with me, but its better then no bath at all! lol [Sissygrl]
